Smorgasboard

So the Pinterest Swap is off and running! I can't wait to see all of the cool things everyone comes up with and sends their match!!

My life is a MAJOR whirlwind of CRAZY these days! Between the usual work, my Scentsy business, school and the kids I have now added Chairman of the ways & Means committee of our Military Spouses Club, President of a new Direct Sales Networking group and probably a few other things I forgot about!

So I NEED to get organized! Today I dropped the ball on a meeting because my umbilical cord (PDA) was being repaired and that just cannot happen again! So I began a list of... well lists to make, and I am going to start a binder that will also be attached to me to try and keep myself more organized!

I also need to get the house finished up inside and outside. Since we moved a few months back I feel myself falling way behind on getting the house organized and I feel like that is taking a lot more "time" away from any kind of downtime I could have because I spend too much time mucking through the disorganization!

So now I am off to get out all of my platters, cake stands, cookie jars and other servingware so I can take a picture for my amazing sister to see what I have available for her wedding dessert table! Then I will be making the lists... hopefully it doesn't end there!

Good Lord Copy & not Pasting has never been so sweet!

So I am a very manic person... I mean very very very manic. I HAVE to be doing more than one thing at a time... like right now... I'm blogging, making coffee, watching House Hunters International and talking with a co-worker... it's also 12:41am.... see manic... or ADD... whatever... shiny rock...

The point is I was working ( a real paying job) while checking out my future Bro-In-Law's blog, Gabe Draws, and getting some Pinterest time in when I realize I needed to "Pin" his amazing art! I wanted to be sure to have each "Pins" description match the title of what he had the art listed as cause he's a witty guy and I thought it was respectful. So here's what I found out!!!! When I highlighted and "copied" the wording he used on his blog and clicked "Pin It" on my tool bar the pop-up window automatically pasted what I had copied!! That's right! I did not have to do anything extra... it was done for me!!!

This is completely allows me to be hastier when posting I realized and give proper names to the things I paste!! Try it! Tell me if this works for you!!!

Don't forget about the Pinterest Swap! Please sign up ASAP as we're are wrapping things up soon and let your friends know! We need lots of interest in this to make it great!

Pinterest Swap

So with my new addiction to Pinterest came an idea. I love following and seeing what my friends love so I thought it would be a very fun idea to start a Pinterest swap! For those who participate they will visit their randomly chosen swappers boards and find something, preferably a DIY item or something that could easily be re-created to gift it to that person. I thought this would be a fun way to actually have a chain to get something from all of that hard work some of are putting into "pinning" while bringing some fun to our lives. Everyone is welcome!

Eta:

Rules-

1. Join the swap by sending me your information (full name, home address, e-mail and blog if you have one). If you’re not a regular visitor I’d love to know where you read about this swap, I’m a curious gal!

Last sign up day is 15th of August 2011!

2. You will get 1 swap address and pinterest username via e-mail from me. After 16th of September I will send you the address, this is your swap partner and you will send your swap to this creative person. Connect, share and spread creativity into the world – that’s the idea! There could be out of state swap partners too because this swap is open to US and APO mailing addresses.

3. Pick any item from the your swapper has pinned on www.pinterest.com and re-create in some way. Item value should be in the range of $15-$30 (not including potential shipping charges). Obviously food items are only good for local swaps unless they can be safely shipped. All local food swaps must be coordinated between participants.

4. Document and share what you make! Please feel free to scan or take photos and write about your process on your own blog or share it via email so I can share it here! You don’t need to have a blog to sign up, nor do you need to share but it would be nice if you took the time to be supportive in our creative community. Swapping is about being a part this awesome group of people who loves to swap too!
Thanks in advance for your support, visiting other participants, spreading creativity and leaving encouraging comments etc.

5. Complete and deliver all swaps by September 15th, 2011

6. If you say you want to participate, do! Don't leave a swapper hanging out by the mailbox with nothing.

Share the love

Tell your friends! We need at least 10 people to sign up for this to work, but I know you wanna do it! Spread the word; post the link on Facebook or share this post through email, write about the swap in your next blog post or newsletter or even pin it to Pinterest! Thanks for helping out and spreading the word!

Barefoot

So I spEnt a nice evening chatting with a friend and we talked about cooking and baking. It's made me want to get back in the kitchen. I used to love cooking and baking and with all of the struggles that have come this year I think I forgot that. So it's back to the kitchen with me. It doesn't hurt that I found a recipe for a Green Tomato Chocolate Cake... It just sounds to neat not to try out.
